WE BRING GREAT MINDS TOGETHER

We envision a global community of pet parents, pet advocates, and pet healthcare providers who revolutionize the economic landscape of pet ownership and pet healthcare together.

Our Grantmaking Strategy

The Life Long Paws Foundation seeks to make pet health care more affordable and accessible—so no one has to choose between their financial stability and their pet’s life.

Initial Funding Priorities

No. 1 Bridging the Gap Between Pet Owners and Emergency Veterinary Costs

Develop and expand financial tools and resources that help pet owners who are willing and able to pay for veterinary care, but cannot afford large, unexpected costs upfront

No. 2 Supporting Vet Clinic Sustainability + Financially Realistic Payment Options

Support veterinary clinics in becoming more sustainable and efficient, while offering care and payment options that are financially realistic for pet owners and increase access to affordable veterinary services.

No. 3 Providing Resources for Pet Parents to Make Confident Care Decisions

Provide pet owners with clear, reliable information about where to find affordable care and how to keep their pets healthy—reducing confusion, preventing avoidable emergencies, and building confidence in their ability to care for their animals

Future Horizons

In addition to these core priorities, in the future the foundation may consider select opportunities to support policy and legislative efforts, innovative field practices, veterinary education reform, and research that advances affordable and accessible pet care.

LLPF sees its role as more than just a funder.

We aim to serve as a connector, amplifier, and learning partner, helping build a community of practice that shares insights and drives long-term change. The foundation values close collaboration with its grantees, encouraging open communication and inviting partners to identify how LLFP can best support their work

Resources for Pet Parents

We provide a safe, unbiased source of education, resources, and community by which pet parents can navigate the pet healthcare landscape. Our goal is to act like “translators” in a foreign country, helping pet parents get access to affordable healthcare and wellness services, while minimizing surprises and unexpected costs. Donations to our non-profit go directly toward the research and development of affordable options so that more families can afford pet ownership and lifelong healthcare for their furry family members.

How You Can Get Involved

We seek to be a friend to all pet lovers. We embrace and accept everyone who believes that pets have the right to life, regardless of their families’ financial means. At this time, the foundation is providing grants by invitation only. However, we’d love to receive your ideas, insights, and invitations for all forms of collaboration. Our doors are open as we work to build bridges between pet parents, healthcare providers, retailers, and pet advocates.

We believe in an intersectional, multidisciplinary approach to lasting change.

Here are several groups we wish to build relationships with:

Veterinarians

to develop programs that get pet parents to insure their pets early and to visit their vets often, an early indicator of the quality of life our pets can expect.

Individual Pet Owners

to build a global community of pet parents, pet advocates, and pet lovers, so we can use our collective voice to revolutionize the pet healthcare industry.

Influencers, Content Creators, & Media Personalities

to collaborate on awareness campaigns sharing educational resources with audiences of pet lovers.

Retailers

to develop ways to support pet parents with the costs of pet ownership, including access to affordable wellness products and services.
